I had a dream recently.
NOTE: Like most dreams, the scenes may seem unusual or hard to explain – but the meaning always reveals itself in the end.
I was on a cruise ship along with many others. There was a competition going on in the middle of the ship. There were bleachers all around the pool where the audience was sitting & watching the competition happening under the water.
The competition is basically this:
There were a bunch of women lying down on the floor of the pool (not surprising for me as women, like most men, have always been my weak spot). Any man who was joined the competition had to swim over each woman and entertain them, perhaps to make them laugh.
So I am in the competition and I go around stopping on top of each woman, being very shy and doing just the minimum to get them to laugh, I complete my round without much incident. I then join the audience in the bleachers.
The next contender gets into the pool and from the very first girl, his actions; his flirting, his jokes, his actions, & anything else he did absolutely captured the audience. We were all laughing, having so much fun watching him while the girls he was entertaining under the pool were having the time of their lives. It was literally the most fun I’ve had in any dream I’ve ever experienced.
As soon as the contender’s round was completed, the judges announced the winner which of course was him. Everyone gave him a standing ovation and the feeling was still one of so much joy all around. The prime minister of a country actually comes to the center to present him with the medal around his neck, he was given a trophy and sent on his way.
From the very beginning of his round under the water, not only did he have fun but everyone else who was there. It was definitely eventful.
This was one of those dreams where when I woke up, I wanted to force myself back to sleep so that it would continue 🤣.
I immediately understood what the message to me was:
My guides/spirit/God or whoever you prefer referring to was expressing to me to make the most of my time here while I am alive. The world is just a stage & I am just playing a role. Eventually, my time will be up and I will go back to the bleachers. But before that happens, I must play and have as much fun as I can. Life is not meant to be serious, to play like life is a game … have as much fun as the guy who won the tournament. By me being my true authentic self, I would not only enjoy my life but will allow those around me to see and be part of the joy. This in turn will inspire them to live with the same enthusiasm and excitement as I do.
Sometimes, the simplest advice we come across carry the deepest wisdom.
One such example is this simple rhyme that reminds us:
“Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream —
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily… “life is but a dream.”
A soft nudge from the universe to not take things too seriously. To flow with life and to remember — it’s all a dream, so enjoy it while it lasts.
